I think it is helpful to reread Dorothea Ludwig-Wang's Substack, The SSPX: A True Response to the Abuse of Authority, Nov 28, 2023. In the last paragraph she asks: "At a fundamental level, the dispute regarding the legitimacy of the SSPX and the ministry of its priests is rooted in two essentially different visions of ecclesiology. Is the Church a perfect society established by Our Lord for the salvation of souls, whose shepherds are equally subject to divine law as everyone else, or is she a merely human dictatorship in which leaders can arbitrarily govern and punish according to their personal whims? "

And, that is the essential question. A prelate such as Bishop Shane A. Mackinlay who willfully disregards clear Church teachings and imposes his will upon the baptized and uses Sacred Heart Cathedral in Sandhurst as a backdrop for his whims clearly does not believe that he is "subject to divine law." And, that frankly is very frightening.

The new pope continues on the slippery slope of apostasy that his predecessor started the church on. Compromise with the world is a sure way to invite God's judgement. I'm just glad I left the Catholic Church long ago.

The decision to elevate this unorthodox Australian bishop to archbishop is the ultimate responsibility of Pope Leo alone.

The Roman Catholic Church embraces the heretical theology of the "development of doctrine", which allows the pope and the magisterium to shift their vaunted capacity for reason into hyperdrive, employ their characteristic sophistry, and create the rationale for unwarranted changes to the faith once delivered to the saints. (cf. Jude 1:3) We need to ask the essential question: At what point in its walk in step with the spirit of this world does the Roman Catholic Church cease to be the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church?

An orthodox understanding and use of the development of doctrine precludes change of the revealed truth but deepens our understanding of it. This has been in place since the very beginning of the Church and indeed is inherent to the human condition. There is nothing heretical about it.

The mutation of the revealed truth by altering its reality into something it is not is heresy. At what point does this happen? Two examples come readily to mind: The the pope can say what is black is white; the Holy Eucharist is a symbol.

We have turned that point.

Such exposure by Dr. Gomes is necessary as the RCC moves forward. Catholics need to hear and read the truth even when it is unsettling. Anglicans face similar problems that also need airing for the sake of truth. Dr. Gomes is to be commended for his writings.

I am profoundly respectful of Catholics I have read over the years .

I have also found some substack individuals who have put out some excellent content which has garnered my sincerest respect.

With that said, if it quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it is a duck. Period.

The late Richard Sipe referred to the creation and promotion of homosexual clerics in the Catholic Church as “passing the tradition on.” One has to pity Leo and the thousands of closeted bishops whose lives are lies which become manifest in these kinds of reported happenings. Great reporting as always from Dr. Gomes!

Thank you, Fr Gene! What a terrible indictment of the Catholic Church from Sipe!

Hello Jules, thanks for another wonderful article. You maintain a very high standard of journalism. It's hard to believe that we are having this conversation about liberalising the church. It's hard to believe that the church is not already liberated. In the primary school playground culture, which is the catholic church today, there are hardly any grown-up voices talking about adult issues. I am so ashamed of the Catholic Church. It is like being a member of the Ku Klux Clan. It is a really weird patriarchal male chauvinist club which deserves to die by dwindling numbers. It has nothing to do with Jesus.

I am very grateful for your kind words. I am reminded of Jesus's warning to the churches in Revelation threatening them with the removal of their candlestick if they do not repent and return to Him.

Can one of you Catholics please explain to me why the Pope has to be visibily evil? It just seems like it would be smarter to pick someone who doesn't outwardly, obviously, look like an actual demon.

Is this just something you do to fuck with people or what is going on... ?

Danger, danger, Will Robinson. Fool of a Tool Men Parroting Reality-labelling words like God, ‘as-if' they understand Reality😅 While in their heart of hearts Women know the Perennial Truth about their Fool of a Tool Men. Being merely useful and annoyingly necessary accomplices in the act of Creation. While self-hypnotically imagining a supernatural God, in their own Male Image😅
